All About Eve

I Tried Being Tasteful...

I came across some Victorian designs a while back that featured women and letters of the alphabet.  Perhaps they were meant to be bookplates, I’m not sure, but with a few modifications here and there I thought they’d make nifty silhouettes. This one is “E,” obviously for Eve (you know, the one who rode to church on a dinosaur with her hubby, Adam?)  It depicts her downfall, with that furshlugginer apple in her hand and the serpent s-s-s-lithering around the letter, thoroughly enjoying what he hath wrought.  Put the blame on Mame, boys.  Or in this case, Eve.

And where’s Adam?  Probably went off to name all the animals in the world, or something exciting like that, and left her at home with the snake.

Isn’t that just like a man?

Thailand – if you haven’t already gone.. What are you waiting for?

.Brave…Amazing

I recently went backpacking in Thailand. Words almost can’t describe the things I did and seen. So let me break it down for you as best as I can.

BANGKOK – after 20 hours of flying and 2 hours of sleep I decided to explore all that Bangkok has to offer. I checked out the indoor mall (the stop after the MDK mall on the train). It was pretty cool but nothing special. We had a lot of fun at the wax museum. After that we got a tuk tuk to Khao San Road. This is the Main Street with shopping and bars. This is where we met Mister T Black Hat. Shoutout…

Moving on with my recent trip around county Laois, I was driving through the Great Heath when I spotted something interesting. Yes right on the roadside was this fantastic Ring Barrow. For anyone whom does not know a barrow is basically an ancient Neolithic burial site which was covered by a mound of earth. There were a number of different styles such as ring, bowl, long and bell barrows. The most common type I know of is the ring type which is made by digging a circular trench or fosse around a central burial.

It would seem that there are quite a number of these ancient burial sites scattered around the Heath, similar to the Curragh in Kildare. This time i did not take the time to explore further to find these, but hopefully later in the year I can return and find some more. The Heath itself is a…
